As the church universal awaits the second coming of our
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we are determined to obey His command
in Matthew 28:19, otherwise known as the Great Commission.
- REACH THE NATIONS : We have a passion
for lost souls and intend to reach the unsaved, tell them about
the saving grace the Lord extends to all, irrespective of any
human barrier. We believe the Lord has made us "fishers of men" and
we intend to "fish" till He appears in the skies to take us home.
- OCCUPY TILL HE COMES : We believe we
are laborers in the Lord's vineyard and will avail ourselves
to be used by the Head of the body, Jesus Christ to build His
church, against which the gates of hell shall not prevail. We
shall, by His Spirit, expand occupied territories and invade
unoccupied and un-reached areas.
- EQUIP THE SAINTS : As the Lord of the
harvest adds to our number, we will identify the giftings of
the saints and help them operate in their areas of ministry for
the edification of the entire body.
- PREPARE FOR BATTLE : We are soldiers in the
Lord's army. As such, we wrestle daily with the enemy and the
accuser of the brethren, Lucifer. The saints will be instructed
from the word of God to grow and mature in their walk with God
and also be adequately equipped for battle.
STATEMENT OF FAITH
| A |
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of
God. It is without error in word or meaning in the original
writings. It is the final authority for our belief and conduct
(2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20, 21). |
| B |
We believe in the existence of the One True God, Elohim,
maker of the whole universe, indefinable, but revealed as Triune
Godhead--Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew
28:19.) |
| C |
We believe in Jesus Christ, God's only Son, conceived of
the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. We believe
He was sinless in His life, died for sins, and arose bodily
from the grave. He ascended into heaven and will return
to earth in like manner (Matthew 1: 18-25; 2 Corinthians 5:21;
Acts 1:9-11) |
| D |
We believe the Holy Spirit was sent by God to convict men
of their sin. To all who believe in Jesus Christ, a
new life is given and the Holy Spirit then helps in the development
of their spiritual maturity (John 16: 7 - 14). |
| E |
We believe that all people are sinners and condemned to
spiritual death, which is separation from God. However,
by believing in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and by repenting
from sin, forgiveness is granted whereby pardon is secured
and they are brought into everlasting fellowship with God (Romans
3:23; Mark 1:15; Romans 10: 9, 10). |
| F |
We believe the Church is a living, spiritual body of which
Christ is the head and of which all people who have received
new life are members. We believe the local church
is a company of believers in Jesus Christ who have been baptized
and gather for worship, work and fellowship. We also
believe God has committed to the local church the ordinances
of baptism and the Lord's Supper and that He has given the
church the responsibility of leading people to Christ. We
believe our church shall be a self-governing body free from
interference by any ecclesiastical or political authority
(1 Corinthians 12:27, Ephesians 4:11,12; 5:23). |
| G |
We believe in the Sacrament of Baptism by immersion, as
a testimony of a convert who has attained a responsible age
of about 15 years (Luke 3:21; Mark 16:16). (Infants
and children are NOT baptized but are dedicated to the Lord)
(Luke 2:22-24, 34; Mark 10:16). We believe in the Sacrament
of the Lord's Supper, which should be partaken by all members
who are in full fellowship (Luke 22:19-20; Matt. 26:21-29;
Acts 20:7). |
| H |
We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit for Believers
with signs following; and in the operation of the gifts and
the fruit of the Holy Spirit in the lives of believers (1
Corinthians 12:8-11; Mark 16:17; Acts 2:4; Gal 5:22, 23). |
| I |
We believe in the Resurrection of both the saved and the
unsaved. They that are saved to the resurrection of life -
and the unsaved to the resurrection of damnation (John 5:28-29;
Daniel 12:2; Romans 2:7; 6:23; 1 John 1:1-2) |
| J |
We believe in tithing and in the giving of free will offerings
toward the cause of carrying forward the Kingdom of God. We
believe that God blesses a cheerful giver (Mal. 3:10; Heb.
7:1-4; Luke 6:38; Acts 20:35). |
| K |
We believe that the healing of sickness and disease is provided
for God's people in the atonement (Isaiah 53:4-5; Matt. 8:7,
17; Mark 16:18; James 5:14-16; Luke 13:10-16). Yet IPC is
NOT opposed to seeking medical attention from qualified medical
practitioners. |
